Lynda B. Scearcy, MS Tax, CPA (Partner)

 
Lynda received her undergraduate degree from of the University of Florida and her Masters Degree in Taxation from the San Joaquin College of Law.  She has been in public accounting since the early 1980s and joined the firm in 1983.  She serves as our Tax Partner and is ready to help small business and individual clients with their needs in the areas of income, estate and gift taxes, as well as their needs for tax and business planning.

Richard A. Scearcy, CPA/ABV, CVA (Partner)

 

 
Dick received his degree from the University of Nevada , has been in public accounting since 1972 and joined the firm in 1990.  He works primarily with business clients, although he also pitches in on tax work as well for both individuals and small businesses.  He has received certifications in business valuation and heads up the firm’s business valuation practice.  Dick is ready to assist in business planning, budgeting, transition planning and many other aspects of helping make small businesses successful.

 Bill McKinley, CPA (Retired Partner)
  
After 44 years in the accounting profession, Bill McKinley has decided it’s time to retire from full time practice.  Effective July 31, Bill is retiring from McKinley Scearcy Associates and is withdrawing from the partnership. 
He will continue to have an office at the firm as long as he desires and we have space.  He still has a lot to offer and he will continue to work for us as a consultant and will be available to help us out during the busy times when we need all the help we can get.

Jan McKinley

 

Jan also graduated from the University of Nevada and joined the firm in 1990.  She is one of our top tax return preparer and also helps with small business bookkeeping and accounting.  In addition to her heavy workload with us, she maintains a very busy schedule staying active in local and statewide politics.  She was also one of the driving forces behind increasing the scope and funding of the Central California Family Crisis Center .

Irma Guillen

 
Irma is one of our senior staff accountants.  She joined the firm in 1990 with 10 years’ prior experience.  She is ready to assist our individual and small business clients in meeting their Quickbooks needs, along with other bookkeeping support, including payroll and general ledger accounting.  In addition, she is our primary tax and accounting proofreader, helping us ensure that our returns and financial statements are as error free as we can make them.  Irma is a Notary Public and provides free notary services to our clients.  We are proud that we had the opportunity to attend her son, Luis’, graduation from Cal State Bakersfield in the spring of 2006.
 
 
 
Janice Gish
 
Janice is one of our senior staff accountants. She graduated from  Phoenix University and has been with the firm since 2002.  She helps our clients with their income tax, bookkeeping and accounting needs.  She was a member of the Porterville Chamber of Commerce Leadership Porterville Class of 2002 and continues to serve on its steering committee.  In her spare time, she teaches two 4-H projects (horses and rabbits) with Vandalia 4-H.  She is a member of the Tulare County 4-H Horse Committee and serves as an executive board member for the Tulare County Leaders’ Council.
 
 
Damara Carrasco
 
 
Damara has been with the firm since 2004 and serves as our “Director of First Impressions.”  She is the one who answers the phone when you call and greets you when you come in the front door.  She understands that hers is one of the most important jobs in our firm, since she can set the tone for your phone call or visit. 
 
 
 
 
Micaela Cavazos 

Mica is our student intern and serves as an office assistant.  She is the one who collates and assembles most of the tax returns and financial statements processed by the firm.  Mica has been with the firm since 2004, working when not attending class.  She is in her second year at Porterville College.
